Once again, we find ourselves looking forward to a new and exciting season at our resort. For all of those who have not yet heard, we have changed our name from Gold River Fishing Lodge to Nootka Sound Resort.

Returning this year is Joelle Rabu, our manager extraordinaire, our chef Kimberly will once again grace our docks to serve you up those superb meals, and Brenna and Nico will be once again returning to fulfill your every need.
2010 Fishing Forecast
Spring is here and the long days of summer will be on us soon. The 2010 salmon fishing season is looking excellent. Reports from Washington, Oregon, and California are reporting strong Chinook returns last year. The Columbia River is expected to have over half a million Chinook returning this year; this is 3 times higher than 2009 return. This is indicating an overall increasing trend for migrating salmon past the waters of Nootka Sound. Our local outlook is very strong with DFO reporting strong and stable returns last fall and record numbers of 2 and 3 year old Chinook, or Jacks.
