Nootka Sound Resort is a floating resort in serene Galiano Bay. Waking up in the morning to catch a glimpse of otters playing on the docks, eagles soaring overhead, black bears rummaging along the shore line or the fish swimming below us in the clear waters of the sound, is often described as heaven on earth.
Kayaking in the calm bay, going on a wildlife tour, diving some of the best sites of the west coast, spelunking in one of the many caves or just paddling around in our little peddle boat, are experiences you will not soon forget.
A day at historic Friendly Cove, landing place of Captain James Cook is a must. Take a walk to his exact landing site, tour the original church and chat with the local residents. Stroll along the smooth pebble beach with the waves of the Pacific crashing on the shore and maybe come across a black bear fishing in the tidal pools.
Spend a few hours digging for clams or picking oysters that our chef will preparethem while you sit under the stars at our unique open pit fireplace on our floating docks.
